Darren Washington was born in 1977 in Stoke-on-Trent, where he currently lives and works. He left school and worked through most of the 90's in the ceramic industry, working for Masons Ironstone and after the closure moved to Staffordshire Table Ware. Darren moved into photography following the demise of the industry and various other career paths in 2004 Darren set up his company iconic images photography. During which Darren has turned iconic images photography into one of the city's best known brands with a distinct style of what has been reviewed and referred to as cinematic approach to photography.
Following his 2008 exhibition Tales from a changing city at Stoke on Trent's major arts venue Airspace with co-artist fictional writer Danny Hill of which was an in-depth look at the city going through regeneration and accompanied by Danny's fictional stories based within the city reaching critical acclaim. Darren moved on to working with a great assortment of artists from film Directors to Graffiti artists.
Now in 2011 Darren has reached a whole new audience in turning his photography experience in to producing films, producing a new and unique film based on the famous Spode pottery factory called Memories of Spode. A feature...
