Phyllis Adams

My art evokes the natural beauty of coastal New England, the ocean, the beaches and the wild life are my constant inspiration.

I strive to pare down and find the essence of my subject matter by abstracting shapes and exaggerating color.

To me straddling the edge of realism and abstraction is the most exciting and challenging aspect of my art.

I have commissioned work at Boston Children's Hospital, Yale Women's Health Center and Coldwell Banker Real Estate, Cambridge MA.

My work is also in several galleries in New England

I worked in the high tech industry for Lotus Corp. and IBM for over ten years but have always had an interest in art.
I minored in art in college and consider myself partially self-taught along with taking several workshop from nationally known artistd along with classes at Cambridge Adult Art Education, Newport Art Museum and the Sharon Art Center.
