Percy Pilane

Percy Pilane aka Pilane Himself is a South African Artist, Graphic Designer and a graduate in Biomedical Technology, and he is based in UAE.I am a self-taught artist. Art has been part of me since early age, when I discovered playing around with colours and drawing makes me feel complete.
I use mostly acrylics and as a graphic designer I am also equally interested in mixed media and various printing media. My paintings show my complex personality and things that are dear to me, celebration of the beauty and colour in life. My work reflects cultural, political, environmental and general social issues that affect our lives.
I love to paint African people with their vibrant clothes. I am influenced by my African culture and tradition and what I see around - decorative patterns, the contrast of light and shadow. I try to express what I feel at the time hence my paintings will therefore vary in themes.
My work is held in private, government and corporate collection local and abroad.
