Deborah Barrett

My work is predominantly concerned with sculpture. Currently, I am exploring collage. I aim to generate ideas that expand on a language that often goes beyond logic. The notions that are manifest are informed by the way I interact with others in everyday life, mainly exploring the ambiguities that are associated with gender. I am interested in the coping strategies that surround the subject and locate much of them using humour, which is often concerned with themes of doubt, tension and failure.
