Gerhard Buckholz

I am a self-taught sculptor artist originating from Linz in Austria, but currently residing in the Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa. ​

I threw in the corporate towel in 2015 and decided to use my natural talent for sculpting and set up base in the wilds of Africa and make my passion my life.

​Being surrounded by nature on a daily basis allows me to instinctively sculpt to capture the spirit of the wild African animals I have observed. My technique captures the anatomical correctness, essential movement and the personality of my subjects. Wax clay is my medium of choice, finishing with stylish chrome, hyper-realistic classic bronze and more fun pop art designs
