I am an Indian contemporary Painter, stay and do my Art practice from Kolkata (calcutta) since last 25 years. Though I stay in a city but the experiences of modern city life does not come out as an inspiration of my work, rather I always prefer to take Nature as the subject of my Painting. Semi realistic or Expressionistic characters of the elements attracts me to choose the subject. Canvas of the painting is a play ground to me, I play with Natural forms, Colors, Textures to create a Painting.
Graduated from Calcutta University – 1985.
Bachelor of Visual Art Degree in Painting from Govt. College of Art & Craft – 1990.
Master of Fine Art Degree in Painting from Banaras Hindu University – 1992.
Junior Cultural Fellowship in Visual Art from Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India 1995-97.
