Olga Pypno’s current practice revolves around the ideas of the uncanny, the sublime and nostalgia. Working primarily in painting and film photography she looks to identify landscapes which evoke a sense of strange familiarity to her and her memories. Pictures are taken on old hand me down cameras and paintings feature familiar forests and roads. Her work looks to identify the sublime within the world around us and analyse how the modern landscape affects the traditional perception of the sublime.
