I am a multi-media artist with skills developed as a freelance sculptor and painter making scenery for television, film and display. My work and the mediums I have used have been a reflection of changing stages of life; from photography in my youth where the world seemed openly available as a place to travel and explore to the present where I am exploring the fragile qualities of memory through paint borrowing from the Ukiyo-e floating world woodblock print aesthetic and sensibility. The work shown here was made during the pandemic and became for me, a new vocabulary that was guided by improvisation and the unlikely alloy of tranquility (the weather was beautiful and the air was clean) and threat.
