Mic Linder (b. 1988) is a painter and sculptor who translates the improvisational energy of his early urban figurative work into a language of structured abstraction. Originally a painter of comic-inspired characters in public spaces, Linder used collage to reduce his subjects into the essential gestures and geometric forms seen in his practice today. His work explores the tension between the known and the remembered. By applying the principles of figurative composition to abstract surfaces, Linder creates an architectural display that feels strangely familiar. His pieces exist in a state of almost-recognition, shifting between the playful and the monumental. The experience is like a half-forgotten memory, inviting the viewer to look closer for an answer that feels just seconds away.
