Dividing one original object into many parts. Such as the view from an airplane of suburban sprawl. An organized, sometimes jagged, geometric form of roads and houses overlaying the land. Or of the sudden shift and pattern of a road that bisects a farm.

Charlotte Corini moved to New York in 1996 after receiving her MFA from the Rinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art. She also holds a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Arts. She has been an Artist-In-Residence at the Ragdale Foundation, the Pouch Cove Foundation, and her work has been presented at numerous galleries and art spaces including The Brecht Forum in New York City. "I use the visual impact of these memories --whether it is the geometry of the environment, the light, or the impact of the color -- to investigate space relationships and organize my thoughts. Abstract geometry is represented in the imagination and by symbols. Through these materials I choose, I can integrate my memory and my love for abstract geometry. I have developed a vocabulary of boundaries that I use to investigate spatial depth."
