My artistic goals haven’t changed from the moment I began to paint eighteen years ago: I strive to enrich and raise the awareness of the community in which I live through my paintings of the Los Angeles Basin’s endangered, bygone, and current wildlife; to help raise our understanding of our cultural heritage through my iconic portraiture of individuals whose impact on our roots has helped to determine who we are today; and to celebrate our homogeneity through light- hearted, witty paintings of our religious icons and the wonderful festivals which bring us together as one people, a people whose roots have been formed in the deep meld of Mexican, Native American and American Cultures and which give us who we are today: Los Angeles.
