Kathryn Regel has been described as a weaver of stories; her work a unique combination of art, memories, and ancestry. Kathryn has been making art her entire life, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that she put aside her corporate job and pursued art full-time. Growing up in Wisconsin she was influenced early influenced by her grandmother who was an oil painter. Later in her career she used the idea of those paintings along with family photo albums to create her Art and Ancestry collection. She divides her time between collage and drawing. Her collage work combines old family photos with current-day photos to make a story – either real or imaged, and recently she began to incorporate her first love of graphite and colored pencil drawings into her body of work.
