Thea Peters is a Dutch artist. She creates watercolors and oilpaintings. In her own pictural language she combines colors and patterns from organisms that might be seen in nature. Born and raised in a village close to Amsterdam. Now living and working in the quiet countryside among fruittrees and sheep. She prefers working with watercolor and oilpaint because of the fluidness of these materials. The proces of working into the wet paint makes it possible to create beautiful soft colors and transparancy . This way of working demands high skills and concentration which makes the activity of painting very exciting to her. She started her artistic career as an illustrator of children's books. After 20 years and many book illustrations, she made a turn into becoming an independant artist/painter. Which she still is untill today. Many of her works are in private collections in The Netherlands and abroad.
