“I love image. What I mean for image is a passage: an invisible bridge to reality, which leads you away without moving, a private vision. Images are ravines full of stories. A deviation to a sensed story. The story which conducted to the frozen present moment, and the story one can fantasize will come after. It is something you perceive as image because you immediately feel its borders, hear its voice, feel its weight and mass of which you see colours and nuances, light and feeling. When a detail catches the attention it can turn a glimpse, a situation, a moment, into a story. This is an image, for me. You can catch an image with a shutter release. There is, within images, a talking point. Something that pushes to come out from space and time. Something that wants to be stopped and wants to tell…something which can even be tiny. Images can be caught and told through hands, eyes and heart: painting them, textile them. On any paper, canvas, accessories or…slowly all human means melt, with no filters. The construction of the perceived image, manual action, emotion, the matter through which to represent it. An image can also be the beginning of a story to tell, to be told through other images. And here is cinema. I prefer narrow glimpses, instants, I expressed myself through the creation of an accessories to wear, canbe made of poetry, painting, photography. Scalfino is the gaze which encloses them all.
