The artist Feilong Hu was born in 1962 in the Jixi county of Anhui Province, which is part of the Huizhou area, the latter being famous for its beautiful mountains, natural scenes and traditional Chinese culture. Famous natural and cultural resorts in this area include the Mount Huangshan (the Yellow Mountains), the historic villages of Xidi and Hongcun, now on the List of World Cultural Heritage sites by UNESCO. The artist Feilong Hu spent his childhood years in this wonderful area as his hometown, which leaves him visual impressions that he conveys in these works. Mr. Feilong Hu currently holds memberships of the association of artists in both Anhui province and Wuhu city (in Anhui province). He is also a research member of the society of art research and a member of the society of art innovations, both in Wuhu city, as well as the vice chair of the institute of art innovations of Wuhu city. He has been a great fan of visual arts since his childhood, and had gotten instructions from famous artists such as Mingdao Hong and Zhensheng Yi. He has been an art designer for the textile industry in Wuhu since 1982, and is promoted to the level of senior designer of industrial arts in 1986. He has been winning many prizes for his textile design works, including the golden deer prize at the 1989 nationwide art and design competition for children's products for his pattern of childern's blanket "Mickey mouse", as well as many other competitions across the nation and province. He has also been a reviewer for the textile design association in Anhui province. Many of his art works have been included in prestigious showings both in Wuhu city and Anhui province. Some of his Chinese paintings have been collected by overseas art collectors. He is the topic of a special report for the magizine "Collectors", as well as several other newspapers and magzines.
