Ebubechukwu Ogbuagu is a Nigerian-born, UK-based contemporary artist and medical doctor. Working exclusively in ballpoint pen hyperrealism, his practice explores themes of Black masculinity, identity, vulnerability, and heritage. Using the humble biro as a medium, Ogbuagu creates emotionally charged, highly detailed portraits that challenge societal narratives and examine inner life with clinical precision. His dual background in medicine and art gives his work a unique edge — merging scientific observation with storytelling. Ebubechukwu’s work is held in private collections in Lagos, London, and New York, and he has submitted to leading international platforms including Art X Lagos, 1-54 London, and Zeitz MOCAA.
