VERONIQUE GROS Véronique Gros, painter, was born on March 20, 1973 in Mulhouse, she lives and works in Saint-Ouen. After graduating at Les Beaux Arts in Mulhouse and Arts-Déco in Strasbourg, Véronique devoted the beginning of her professional life to the creation of motifs for the textile industry. Then, very quickly, she knew that painting was the most important thing in her life. Her painting is at structured and anarchic, full of violence and contrasts - harmony as well - the brutality of the gesture, the valorisation of the spontaneous. Véronique scratches, hollows, lacerates, to the scar, the indelible wound. "A closed space which finally is always going to find a breakaway. " Unpredictable, always renewed, almost geometrical concentric forms seem to remember and to carry in them the memory of their disappeared matrix. Their pronounced visible outlines appear under a spontaneous line to the acrylic and to the ink on thick paper. In this captivating and organic dumping, Véronique Gros works so much on what binds that on what separates. The link which gathers (collects) as the one who tears causing the loss, the estrangement. Between presence and absence, in an insistent and repeated speed, it draws, tears up, scratches, abrasions, highlights. Scratches, tears, grazes testify of the esthetic accident where the random shows itself in perpetual conflict with the control of its gesture.
