ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I start my artwork by drawing a pencil layout and underlying structure, then I color the drawings with Prismacolor pencils. I wanted to have control over my line weight and color blending. I’m transferring the simplicity and sensitivity of the moment by creating lighting and softness shadings. I don't like to draw a standard, common view of my subjects. I like to explore concepts, gestalt, relationships. I use my imagination and my creative vocabulary to create backgrounds. I often just let my lines go where they will. And color just falls into place. Each piece I create is a long, strange trip, sometimes to other universes.
