The inspiration of the collection is from Asian minority traditional crafts, fabric, knit or embroideries etc. I spent a lot of my childhood in Kunming museum with my mother as she worked with the exhibits which consisted of Chinese minority collections and antiques. This has given me a big influence in my life when I think of Chinese minority culture. In todays modern China a lot of minority cultures and their art are disappearing and helping to make them more known of through modern art and discussion is one way to keep them alive. I started thinking to transform and recreate the old formation into the new and modern way of drawing to contribute in my own small way to this. I really love these cultural vibrant colors and the patterns from the past, like the memories of my childhood.
