“For me, there is always rhythm and energy in any art form.” Visual art can have an emotional connection to something that brings a new and exciting awareness to enlighten the artist and the viewer. I became a porcelain artist and teacher, but felt stifled by the rigidity of traditional representational art. However, as a young girl, I studied ballet and then in college I furthered my studies in dance and art. Both areas create movement and form which I try to express in my work. My experience with contour drawing brings out the unencumbered power within each of us to convey the spontaneity of the “child” in all of us.
