About The Artwork
This is an ink drawing of two Mayan tribal groups at war with a European conquistador caught up in the middle. All this action is happening under the rumbling eruption of a not-too-distant volcano as the Aztec sun looks on. This work was executed in technical pens, promarkers, and acrylic ink on quality 140lb watercolour paper. It has been professionally framed in a modern white frame and matching red mount for a dramatic effect.

Terri Smith (formerly Kelleher) was born in the USA, but moved to Ireland in 1994 where she currently works as a freelance illustrator/artist. She has been illustrating children's books since 2012 and has illustrated +/- 50 books. In 2014, she received the Kuykendall Image Award for Excellence in Illustration for her work in Nancy Scalabroni's book, "Couga Monga Minga Man." Terri also creates work for exhibition and privately commissioned pieces.
