Native American Indians lived in teepees that were built by women while the men went hunting. The campfires were inside the teepee and the heat kept the families warm inside. Heat escaped through the top of the teepees. These teepees were made for the nomadic native American Indian tribes in the plains. Animal skins covered the teepees exteriors that may have symbolic designs on them.
