Temptation Print

This piece is about relationships and the tree different stages. It is set on a train cart but also on a stage which is metaphor for life. The first couple is a woman who is looking for love. She is waiting with her flowers and patient. She is with a young cupid. She is looking out at the mountains in hope of love. The mountains in the first window are small but getting larger as a metaphor for her situation. The middle couple stand for full blown love when things are going great. New love. The mountains are largest for them and their situation. The third stage is temptation. The man is being tempted by the seductive creature. He doesn't know what to do but seems interested. The mountains are declining behind him. He has a ring on his finger so one can assume he is married. The contents on the stage have different meaning as well. The burning book is the silencing of ideas. The broken mirror symbolizes not liking oneself. The leafs symbolize growth. The clock symbolizes our most precious commodity, which is time. The clock is in Mandarin and stands for the four devils which are lust, envy, hate, and jealousy. The focul point of this piece is the man being tempted. The creatures leg is pointing towards him. The hands on the clock are pointing towards him. The leafs are pointing towards him. If you look closely at the curtains in the top left, there is an arrow pointing at him and make the viewer wonder what he will do. I was inspired by my own relationship at the time and what the future may hold for me. I hope the viewer can relate to where they are in their relationship.
