The Altar of Forgotten Dreams Print

This is the second in my Metamorphosis series from Winter of 2021. The piece is ink on a1 paper. Statement from the Change exhibition I have created 3 pieces for the Change exhibition, each one examining a different facet of the concept of metamorphosis, from the angle of the subconscious. I was particularly interested in how things can be affected from unseen forces, mainly based around the concept that the fate of our reality is determined by the movements of beings on a higher dimension than ours which exceeds time and space, and to which humanity is just a subconscious thought form and the further implications of this concept once you start thinking about all of the dimensions of reality below us. Underneath the veneer of the conscious mind, the subconscious is undergoing constant metamorphosis, receiving imprints from the outside world and other dimensions of reality. In dreams some of the inexplicable imagery and symbolism of the subcocious arises to the conscious mind, giving us a brief insight into what lies below, which usually exceeds any preconceptions of our own individuality or humanity. Is the subconscious a mirror of the conscious world or vice versa? Is the subconscious an evolutionary echo or ripple effect from the past, or is it a connection to another dimension? Are humans really individuals or are we shadows of higher beings, imprints from lnter dimensional life forms and what effect does our existence have
