My work is inspired by my deep connection to my native land, Ukraine. The themes of strength, endurance, home, and belonging are central to my art as they reflect my longing to hold onto my roots and my people, despite being away from home. The rich history and culture of Ukraine never cease to amaze me with its resilience, determination, and beauty. I aim to share these themes with others through my art, to tell the stories of my homeland, and to preserve its legacy. By interpreting Ukrainian embroidery into laconic flowers, I aim to capture the essence of my culture and heritage and pay tribute to the deep cultural roots that define us. I chose the medium of oil paint and the subject matter of flowers as they are both symbols of growth and beauty. The simple style I used is a representation of the strength and bravery of my country, and it also represents the beauty of simplicity. I hope that the viewers of my work will appreciate the beauty and strength of Ukraine, understand the importance of preserving cultural roots and heritage, and be inspired by the resilience and determination of the Ukrainian people.
