1988, I don't know why but when I was younger I remember I always colored outside the lines. I would press hard to the point where my crayons would bend and break, for some reason I found excitement also coloring with the edges of the broken crayons. Sometimes I thought that coloring the whole picture was too boring, expected and ordinary. I would skip or incomplete the drawing feeling it was perfect leaving it that way. I moved back and forth, living with my dad in Brooklyn and with my mom residing in 3 different countries. Born in Dominican Republic till the age of 5, raised in Brooklyn, a bit in Puerto Rico and then again Dominican Republic. As life happened I stopped drawing, It wasn't until I found myself engulfed in pain and despair, feeling lost and confused about who I was and who I wanted to be-come. Trying to find an outlet I recalled my childhood happiest times, riding bike, skating, dancing/singing making clothes for my Barbies and drawing/coloring, even though I wasn't allowed to watch tv or play during school days I was allowed to color and draw after being done with homework and chores. I also enjoyed learning about things and how things work and reading. I bought mixed paper and different mediums, I started releasing and what I thought would be a self healing therapy session actually turned into a perfect symphony which also brought lots and lots of tears. I started imitating drawings, re-drawing things I saw, as i colored away I felt lighter each day. Researching the meaning of things in a deeper way and with a different approach brought much more inspiration. I started infusing my art, my environment and my emotions. I started craving a unique relationship with it, an innovative approach and put it all together. I often imagine my drawings in another dimension, alive and having a purpose of its own. I am a certified reiki healer, a self taught scientist, natural researcher and an adept. A lover for the underdogs, mysticism and the occult and an insatiable inner thirst for knowledge. I decided to combined all the things that I love into one, wanting to help heal earth being on my top list, raise the vibrations of every living/non-living thing, to be-come an inner catalyst and assist in the progressive evolution of human kind. I feel as though my art is a mix of ancient/modern knowledge. I summon my inner awareness to gather information on what’s been forgotten, needs to be healed.
