*All works are available as open edition prints* Siets, born as Sietske Pelgrum (1986, Enschede), is a Dutch autonomous artist. Her work explores themes of inner truth, consciousness, transformation, and symbolism. Working without a predetermined plan, her images arise intuitively, giving shape to inner movement and the unseen. As she describes it: “Like waking up from a dream. It’s a symbolic diary.” Her body of work includes digital illustrations, paintings, drawings and mixed media. Influenced by expressionism, surrealism, and symbolism, her often figurative, colorful compositions blend human and animal forms. With a background in graphic design, photography, and art direction, she developed a parallel, counterbalancing practice: creating without expectations or conceptual frameworks. This intuitive approach revealed a lasting fascination — one that continues to drive her artistic exploration. Since 2011, she has increasingly focused on her autonomous art practice. In addition to her free work, she creates commissioned pieces that mark personal moments of transition — often centered on themes of birth, death, and inner transformation. She works from her studio at B93, an artist collective in Enschede, the Netherlands. She often finds herself inspired while travelling, spending time in forests and the Austrian mountains — quiet places where presence shape the space from which her work can emerge. Commissioned work, originals, and limited editions are available upon request.
