In this piece my intention is to pay respect and remembrance to our ancestors. To continue to pay respect to the ancestors we've witnessed pass as well as the ones who've passed long ago. A visual prompt to remember and honor the deceased throughout our lives. Works on paper.

I'm a Perisan-American Artist and a Real Estate Investor. My parents noticed at age two to three years old, I was constantly drawing. Although a very playful child, I was calm and extremely focused when I created art. At age five my parents decided I should have private art lessons by professional artists. From ages five to nine, I entered and won many children's art shows. During adolescent years, I was not sure what I wanted to do with my future. In those years I was just trying to survive severe abuse due to racism and was constantly assaulted and verbally abused because of my race. During this time my father passed away then a few months later my sweet, nurturing, loving mother was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer and had brutal treatments and eventually passed away. However, I did manage to create art in class and at the hospital while watching my sweet, beautiful, angelic mother suffer to death. I had no time to think about my future & had absolutely no other emotional support from any family! I was completely on my own at such a young age. By the time I started university, I was parentless, but remembered my mother's words"You can do anything you want". She always said I was her most talented and smartest child. I immediately realized I wanted to major in Studio Art because Art got me through joyful and tragic times. Thanks to a few professors, mentors, friendships & my other half, who believed in me, I studied Visual Arts and achieved degrees in the subject. I didn't give up on life. From then on, I created Art religiously & on a regular basis in my life. I have multiple bodies of work. The themes range from womanhood to societal obstacles and barriers and nature. Art has been a refuge most of my life and has given me a purpose. I'm constantly studying subjects for my art work such as: different cultures and societies, human condition, psychology, oceans, landscapes, outer-space, cityscapes to human dynamics such as karmic cycles, racial and gender roles. Coming from two cultures, I have a unique perspective and expression as well. I also get inspiration traveling to many cities and countries with my hubby, Tim. Tim and I love to travel and learn. During our travels, we often visit museums and galleries for inspiration. We have done this for years together. The exploration of the human form, nature & condition.
