Digital drawing part of the series #WeTheArtists. Technique: mixed. Software: Procreate. Who has not ever wondered about the concept of art? How to define it? What does it cover? In 2004 I arrived to Brussels to start my studies on TRANSMEDIA (Art-Design-New Media). A few months later I had to start looking for a job because the scholarship did not cover the expenses. It wasn’t easy. I ended up dressed as a turtle in a park called Mini-Europe, getting paid a misery and suffocating under a suit that smelled of sweat, not mine. To top it all, they called me the artist: “l’artiste comedien”. How far all that was from the concept of art I had learned back in art school! That one of galleries, museums and "openings" full of champagne. This project does not talk about the concept of art, but about those other “artists”, who also live from art.

Jesús Azogue (1975, Seville) is designer and artist and was co-funder of the artistic group The Blind Man in the 90's and part of the TRANSMEDIA program in the Hogeschool Sint Lukas Brussel. In his pieces (video-installations, performances, and multimedia design and projects) Azogue always leaves a scent to be followed, the trace of something that seems to have already occurred, or is taking place and although we might see it, we do not believe it entirely. He has created and presented his work at numerous exhibitions and performances and has been published in several catalogues and reviews. Nowadays he works as Creative director at the eMarketing agency ZN, at the same time he develops his artistic activity.
