My motto Light is my life and my life is endless. I am Photography. My life as a photographic artist It is made up of two distinct periods, one as an amateur, the second as professional author-photographer. Amateur (1982-2011) In 1987 I studied photography at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Very influenced by humanism, in black and white, silver naturally. Raymond Depardon congratulated me on my report “La Fruitière” and that gave me confidence. My work has taken me around the world and I have continued to photograph with the same eye. Professional (2012-current) Since my 50th birthday, photography has become my main activity. I now share a lot with painters. I adopted the maxim of Serge Poliakoff (1953): "Abstract art is like a large tree whose branches are moved by the winds. It allows freedom of spirit to flourish and man to express oneself, freed from the limits of figurative conventions. I believe in humility and honesty, in the light-color-form-matter quartet that leads me to abstraction. The instinct that creates so many voluntary accidents and the greatest sources of emotional propositions. “For me, instinct is unconsciously perfect and my paintings live from conscious imperfections,” Nicolas de Staël used to say. Likewise, I elaborate my photographs. Reviews The expression of Jérôme Perez's work is astonishing. We witness a flamboyance of colors and life. A dreamlike vision that gradually takes us to another dimension, cosmic, magical. A photographic art constructed in the manner of an abstract composition. Moreover, we are surprised at first glance because we think of a painting. But no, it's a photograph! A sophisticated work, elaborated from superpositions of a great richness of varied colors, both bright and soft. A balance of tones and materials that allows us to witness very beautiful visions in the immediate future, then abandonment and dreams. Pascal Chauveau (Professor Honoris Causa, Laureate of the Academy of Rome) Thank you for allowing me to look at your photos of the fruitière in Ain. Bravo and all my best wishes. Best regards. Raymond Depardon Very great harmony, it's a poem. Bravo for those who seek the eternal!!!
