Dr. Masuma Ahmed, the internationally recognized award-winning Bay Area artist, is originally from New York City. She is a physicist and high-tech entrepreneur turned artist and storyteller. By fusing science and social issues with art and poetry, Masuma not only brings unique perspectives to her works but also demonstrates the power of arts and creative writings in capturing the intrinsic artistry and storytelling aspects of science and social issues. Her artworks, a lovely blend of new media, mixed media, and traditional media carry a very distinctive powerful voice. With the emphasis on folk and traditional arts of her Eastern background combined with her Western experiences in modern and contemporary arts and digital arts, Masuma adds many dimensions to her artworks in dazzling colors. Masuma was one of the 16 selected artists for the BLM Mural in the City of Palo Alto in California. Masuma is a self-taught artist with art training received at Bangladesh National Art College, Yale University, and Stanford University, and her Ph.D. in Physics from Yale University. Masuma taught arts at the Bechtel International Center at Stanford University. Masuma’s artworks received many awards from the US, Germany, India, and Brazil art galleries.
