THE HUMAN TRACE: A MANIFESTO OF AUTHENTICITY By Magic Art Photography Photography is my way of communicating with the world. In my work, I talk about own experiences, thoughts, doubts, fears, and hopes trying to reflect my own life's path. In addition to my experiences, my creations are inspired by night dreams. Since childhood, I remember most of them and I believe that dreams are the most symbolic language of our subconscious, a guide to navigate in the modern world. I am autodidactic, and I don't recognize myself as a photographer. I use photography as a tool, like a brush for painting or any instrument to play music. My work is an attempt to connect substantiality of the world that surrounds us with elusiveness of feelings and thoughts. For that reason I describe my creations as building a bridge between the visible and the invisible. I. The Origin of the Vision In an era of algorithmic saturation, I stand by the permanence of human intention. My work is not a product of generative prompts, but the result of over a decade of personal evolution, conceptual depth, and manual craftsmanship. My aesthetic was born in the dark and the digital canvas long before the existence of artificial intelligence. II. The Soul Behind the Image: My Autobiography An AI can mimic a surface, but it cannot tell the story behind the frame. I can. If you wish I can tell you the story behind each single image. “White cloud” was born from the notes of Ludovico Einaudi; a moment of tears and a sudden sense of weightlessness. “Communication breakdown” this series is the raw chronicle of one of the most important of my relationships. The history of turbulent ebbs and flows. “in search of lost time” I have started this serie in 2014, and it is not a cinematic Hollywood FX exercise. It is a profound exploration of the relativity of time—the phenomenon where a single second can freeze into an eternity. The second that marked the day when I was on the borderline of life resignation. The Grey of My Soul: My signature grey tones are not the result of a calculated algorithmic filter. They are born from my origins in a land of mist and snow. My eyes were trained by the rain, winter and black ravens, not by a database. Insignificance: My silhouettes against an immense moon reflect Kant’s philosophy: “The starry heavens above me and the moral law within me.” It is not intent of being minimalist, it just a feeling of how insignificant is my own presence in the world.
