"23Skidoo" Looking upward at the Flatiron building in New York City on a ominous day. Right before a rain storm the sky became dark and the light changed it was very beautiful. The saying "23 Skidoo'" refers to the Flatiron building at the turn of the 20th century. The building is long narrow causing a wind tunnel along the side of the building. Men would stand along the block to watch women's skirts fly up as they walked by and then proclaim "23 Skidoo!"
