Shania is a painter currently located in Orlando, FL. Born on the island of Trinidad and Tobago (yes, it's one country), and lived throughout New York. She has drawn inspiration from the environments all around her. Growing up around various expressions of art, such as working with fabric, cartoon drawing, and house design, Shania has developed her artistic skills from her family tree and Caribbean culture. It is often she finds herself putting paintings together with random pieces of ideas and thoughts. Similar to what was done in her childhood, she would look for ways to entertain herself with stips of cloth or random house items. Shania started painting on canvas as a hobby in her Junior year of high school with no previous experience and it was her best decision yet. Her focus choice of medium is acrylic paint, but she would often try new mediums such as charcoal, oil paints, and even textiles. With the growth of her interest in having an art career, Shania is now pursuing a BFA in Studio Art at the University of Central Florida. With hopes to become an art educator and painter, she believes that everyone should find the artist in them.
