Asta Kulikauskaitė Krivickienė, born in 1973 in Kaunas, Lithuania, is a painter known for her unique approach to depicting the natural world and its interplay with personal identity. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2000, specializing inpainting. Asta’s work is characterized by her abstract interpretations of landscapes, transforming external environments into intimate, inner worlds. Drawing on her imagination, travel experiences, sketches, and photographic material, she creates captivating scenes that transcend literal representations. Her paintings often incorporate motifs of mountains, flora, and oceans, achieved through experimental techniques with acrylic and oil, with a particular focus on the purity of painting and the dynamic relationship between colors. She also works in traditional printmaking, further expanding her artistic expression. Since moving to Luxembourg in 2018, Asta Kulikauskaite has been actively engaged in the local art scene. She has held several solo exhibitions, including Immersion (2022, Beckerich), and has participated in group shows such as the Biennale d'Art Contemporain (2024, Strassen), Printmakers’ Choice (2025, Walferdange), and the duo exhibition Les Invités (2025, Vianden). She also contributed to Lynn Theisen’s project Landscapes for Esch 2022 – European Capital of Culture. Asta Kulikauskaite was awarded an Individual Scholarship by the Lithuanian Council in 2022. Her artworks are part of the Luxembourg National Library’s collection and have been acquired by art lovers and collectors worldwide. Asta is a member of Empreinte Atelier de Gravure and the AAPL - Artistes Plasticiens du Luxembourg. She works in her studio at the 1535° Creative Hub in Differdange, where she also teaches painting and drawing. In addition, she leads art classes at C.E.P.A. in Luxembourg.
