this is a series of 7 large female portraits that represent the 7 deadly sins. having researched the subject matter I came upon the latin names of the seven sins, Invidia, Luxuria, Ira, Acedia, Avaritia, Superbia, Gula and all of them female! having discovered a small deconcecrated chapel in the vecinity of hannover named Maria Magdalena I was happy to show my work there, as she apparently bore all of the seven sins within her and was exorcised accordingly. I imagine that when the chapel closes of an evening, the 7 exorcised sins will have a ball and have occupied Maria Magdalena once again; with gusto! the paintings are removed from their stretch frame and hung like tapestries, from a wooden slat.
