Anastasiia Klymenko (b. 1982, Kyiv, Ukraine) is a professional artist, surreal collage maker, and mental health advocate based in Kyiv. She works at the intersection of contemporary art, psychology, and human rights. With a background in economics, marketing, photography production, and body art, she began her professional artistic practice in 2022. Her primary mediums include digital and analogue collage, abstraction, and mixed media. Through fragmentation and recomposition, she explores how personal and collective experiences are reconstructed after trauma. Anastasiia lives with bipolar affective disorder (Bipolar Disorder) and openly integrates lived experience into her artistic and educational work. She is a trainer and consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) within the QualityRights programme, focusing on mental health recovery, dignity, and human rights. She is also a mental health activist, public speaker, and ambassador for the Mental Health Ukrainian project. Her artistic practice centers on mental health, trauma, identity, interpersonal relationships, and the hidden layers of the psyche. Using surreal collage as a metaphor for consciousness, memory, and dissociation, she investigates themes of chaos and harmony, childhood trauma, sexuality, mythology, religion, and the body as a psychological archive. The creative process itself functions as a meditative and introspective act, where rational control gives way to intuition and subconscious expression. Anastasiia has participated in numerous international exhibitions across Europe, the UK, and the USA, including Venice, London, Berlin, Brighton, Brussels, Dresden, and Tbilisi. Her work has been featured in international art publications and contemporary art books. Through both art and education, she works to destigmatize mental illness and create spaces where vulnerability, complexity, and inner experience are recognized as sources of strength.
