Guatemala
Mauricio Palma is a Guatemalan artist born in 1982, known for his distinctive fusion of Impressionist and Expressionist styles. Largely self-taught, he later refined his technique under the mentorship of renowned Guatemalan painter Ernesto Boesche. Palma is also a trained psychologist, and this dual background profoundly informs his artistic approach—enabling him to delve into the depths of human emotion and mental states through his work. His paintings are recognized for their vibrant color palettes, dynamic brushwork, and evocative sense of movement. Common themes in his art include still lifes, urban landscapes, nature scenes, portraits, and music-inspired compositions, often imbued with a dreamlike or introspective atmosphere. His work reflects a personal exploration of color, emotion, and memory, inviting viewers to connect with each piece in their own way.
