Watching it all on videotape through a CRT it all seemed so surreal. Savine’s paintings joyfully mix Pop culture, Street Art and Graffiti, embodying levels of pareidolia - the imagined perception of a pattern or meaning, where it does not actually exist through the use of partially representative abstract imagery. Many of the forms do not quite commit to being recognisable, yet are not totally ambiguous as there is sense of encoded familiarity. The works are predominantly paintings in Oil and Acrylic on canvas and board. His works also include screen prints and collage. Savine was featured in the New Art West Midlands 2016 shows & was awarded a Daler-Rowney painting prize at Wolverhampton, 2011.
