As a versatile contemporary artist In try to define a unique strain of Pop-Surrealism rooted in art historical sampling and graphic precision. My work is a commitment to the colorful, narrative and emotional, drawing viewers into fun, dramatic and curiously decorative scenes. Conceptually, my work explores the vacuum left by the absence of mysticism and it is filled by a profound societal narcissistic tendency. Visually, this is expressed through characters who are fascinated with their own image, resulting in figures that duplicate or multiply like nested Russian dolls. I employ a sophisticated technique of oils and acrylics for powerful depth. I intentionally sample and modify elements from classical paintings, placing them in an anachronistic and metaphorical context that retains the original image’s emotional power while giving it a startling, modern relevance.
