Rebecca Anderson is a Northern California modern and abstract artist focusing on paintings with acrylics or oils on a variety of materials. She is heavily inspired by music and her love of capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that incorporates dance and music. She has studied capoeira since 1999 and her exposure to the Brazilian culture has been the launchpad for many of her favorite projects. While taking art classes in college, one of her professors, after seeing her work, introduced her to the works of the German Expressionists. Her favorite is Max Beckmann. Other artists who inspire: Pablo Picasso, Francis Bacon, Franz Marc. The Arts & Crafts Movement is also a source of inspiration.
