About The Artwork
This is the third painting in the "Facial Recognition" series. The base of the painting is the concept of a Panopticon, wherein prisoners regulate their own behaviour since they cannot tell whether they are being watched by the single all-seeing guard. However, the painting's character only selectively regulates their behaviour, due to the shortcomings of their own humanity, as the panopticon is partially blinded.
