"Blue Dane (sold)" Fine Art Print

I am a self taught artist and work from my studio at home on the island of Anglesey in North Wales, UK. I have two main, very different, drivers which inspire me. One is the process of applying the paint using a variety of techniques, thick textured marks placed next to or on top of a smooth rendered space, for works of landscape and natural elements including abstract or semi abstract. My other inspiration is from storytelling and narratives whether from songs or literature, myths and legends or from stories I create in response to found images. These works are more figurative and detailed (more illustrative I guess) and I like to feel they are akin to metaphysical or surrealist art. I find it impossible to only focus on one of these and the imperative at the time decides which practice appeases my painting urges.
