At the beginning, the series of works “BIRDS” was conceived as an interior project, consisting of small paintings (modules) measuring 30x30 (sm). Modules can be arranged in random order and configuration and change the interior decoration according to the mood. Then, this series of works supplemented by new paintings of the format 70x70 (sm) and on a round stretched canvas. Pictures of this size can already be used in the interior in a single copy, as well as be combined with the former small ones. The first works in this series were exclusively monochrome shades. But over time, I began to add color. So there were works with blue birds, as well as with color ones. Painting these birds I’m doing an imitation of watercolor painting with oil paints on canvas. I draw without a preliminary sketch. Thus, each time I train confidence and firmness of the hand, a sense of composition and space. Birds are a symbol of flight, lightness and freedom. I am interested in conveying the dynamics of their movement, creating a beautiful silhouette with a brush strokes. Please note: the original artwork is not available for sale. But this file is available for printing on paper or canvas.

Belarus
Aleksandra Galenko lives and works in Minsk, Belarus. She has been painting for over 15 years. "In my work I don’t adhere to any specific concept. Creating new works, first of all I strive to ensure that they have aesthetic value and demonstrate a high level of skill. It is also very important for me that my paintings were made technically correct, using high quality materials. It gives me confidence, that my works can be stored for many years. Among all the materials, I prefer oil paints, cause they can be used in very different techniques. Sometimes ideas for new works appear by experimenting in this way. For example, in the series of works “Birds” I use oil, but apply watercolor technique. Enjoy the process of creating these paintings is also an important aspect for me. In some moments, it happens that the object itself is not so much interesting as the creation of a beautiful texture, the selection of colors and perfectly matching shades. It is like a meditation process."
