About The Artwork

My fabulous Kubachinsky period is coming to an end. I want to present my work to you. It's special to me. Silver on black, bright pomegranate fruit in the center just hypnotize me! Remember, I promised to tell you about one women's national accessory? The bib. On the upper women's caftan-dress, it was instead of b buttons. On one side, silver long (10-12 cm) buttons with a ball at the end were attached, and on the other side the same long buttons with a loop for these balls. Buttoning up, the buttons lay down in a dense metal row on the chest from the decollete area almost to the waist, on which there was a silver carved belt. Of course, it was an outfit for a special occasion, however, it was never stale! The Caucasus is famous for its fun weddings and family celebrations! So, thanks to this design, the girl not only securely fastened the upper dress or caftan, but was also forced to keep an even posture! (of course, it is very useful for health, but the basis was different) in our culture, a girl is associated with a smooth statuesque bird, like a swan, floating with wings outstretched. With a stately and noble gait, he walks his slender camp along the road (and try to hunch over with such a bib?! I'm kidding- it's comfortable to be in it) in general, it's very beautiful. For me, this picture is like the personification of the feminine principle in our tradition. A handsome young man will be fascinated by such a girl - how hot the fire is and how fast the wind is. They will create a family and become the successors of their families, will pass on their traditions and life principles to the new generation - the principles of kindness, honor, humanity, nobility, sincerity and loyalty. So life will go on. I have shared with you a piece of my culture and tradition, my soul... I hope you will like my work. I really want them to warm you up and remind you of something kind and bright in this difficult time of the pandemic.

ARTIST STATEMENT I was born in a place and time that had strong racist and nationalist sentiments. All my childhood I tried to hide my origin, fearing aggression from children. Under the influence of society, I left my work, which always dealt with ethical topics. After many years, I returned to creativity, already in adulthood. Now I am protesting to a society that has prejudices and judgments that violate the rights of national minorities. My credo in life is not to deceive yourself, not to forget who he was born and to carry his cultural code. I love history and material heritage. very often I compare my childhood memories with emotions, thus the plot of my works arises. From time to time I immerse myself in my childhood memories and feel the emotions that I experienced as a child. But now my life experience is already superimposed on it, and these memories take on new outlines, which form the basis of the plot of my works. Carpet weaving inspires me especially. carpet weaving. I feel the feminine essence of my grandmothers and great-grandmothers reviving in me. After all, just like my mother, they were all engaged in this craft. The carpet-weaving ritual always sends my thoughts back to my distant childhood and transports me to the land of my ancestors, like an instant wind. Unlike my ancestors, I "weave" carpets using canvas and a brush. In my "carpets", which will bring an authentic twist to any modern interior, I combine traditional artistic materials with new ones. A peculiar connection of generations on canvas, in which both classical oil and practical acrylic are found. In my works, you can see a collective image of a Caucasian girl of the past years, which reflects the traditions, character and mentality of that time to the viewer. Through the prism of modernity, where the boundaries of what is permissible and forbidden are erased, in a world where there are no duties, but only rights, this girl, like a fragile delicate flower , makes her way to life, through the cold stone jungle of technological cities. Popularizing the art of the ancient people of the Caucasus, I want to remind people of their roots, not only those from the Caucasus, but everyone. In the modern progressive world, where the boundaries of cultures and religions are being erased, it is necessary to preserve its authenticity. Your nationality is yours uniqueness, not a disadvantage!
