About The Artwork

With the intensity of our global social circumstances, and the emergence of spring, this image struck me as symbolic. The “burning bush,” which in Biblical terms was what God used to show Moses how to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, but in my case, the hopeful expression of our world finding a way out of our pain and struggles. I like working on 18"x24" paper, because the art looks great framed with, irregular sized custom mats, also buyers can select the frame best suited for their interior spaces, or simply buy a modern manufactured frame such as they sell on CB2.com for a great price. Makes original art affordable!

After 20 years of being an Art Director in advertising, design, and marketing, and then publishing six novels, I decided to dedicate most of my time creating two-dimensional art. While painting, I find a wonderful sense of freedom. I love not being concerned about always “staying in the lines,” or traditional use of colors, or the notion of making a mistake! Instead, I delight in the uncertainty of discovery and exploration. My work is personal and expressive. I employ charcoal pencil, pastels, acrylic paint, often using my fingertips, and Japanese oil pens. I refer to the work as graphic expressionism. I am married and live in Austin, Texas with my dog, and biggest critic, "Chino!" [Photo credit: © Jeremy Green]
