Patrick O'Callaghan Artist: Patrick is a figurative artist painting and drawing from observation and imagination. His aim with observational art is to relate an honest interpretation of the view that inspired him - an unusual feature in a landscape - the colour of cloud in a storm - a crazily distorted tree..."The scene has to have some point to it; it's not just a random point of view". He's keen to avoid mannerism and technical effects. He is influenced by almost all art and design but Eric Gill, Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious, Alan Fletcher, Edward Hopper, David Hockney are the heroes that have the greatest appeal. Patrick's, paintings are watercolour and gouache on heavy fine art papers; they are vibrant with uplifting colours and hopefully will lift the spirits. Please contact me with your feedback.
