Oleksiy Zaitsev is an Ukrainian artist, painter, graphic designer and organizer of art festivals. Born and raised in Kyiv. Zaitsev is engaged with intermedia art (painting, drawing, objects, installations, digital art, photography), where performance art is a key practice and basis for artistic and social research. In his work he is interested in social, sociopolitical issues; studies the relationship between the author and the audience; interested in the idea of ​​contemporary / neotheric rituals and myths. His art pieces are often interactive and require the active participation of the audience to create a joint action. Oleksiy is an organizer and curator of the "Carbonarium'' international performance art festival, which takes place in Kyiv since 2018; co-founder of the "Molodiya social ads Festival"; He is the recipient of the "Gaude Polonia 2020" scholarship program, "I-portunus" international mobility grant, "Culture Bridges" mobility grant. He has been one of the ten nominees for the "Social Contract 2017" project organized by "Izolyatsia" fund. Participant of Ukrainian and foreign festivals: "Gogolfest", "Kyiv Art Week", "Supermarket independent art fair" in Stockholm, "PAO" in Oslo, "Performance Crossings" in Prague and others.
