"Cold West: Visions of Warriors" Fine Art Print

I was born in the southern steppes of Ukraine, washed by the waters of the Dnipro and the Black Sea. I grew up in a family where love for the land was an integral part of life. Growing up in rural areas surrounded by the diversity of plant life, under the guidance of a wise botany teacher and influenced by agronomist parents, I felt a great love and respect for nature from an early age. Studying biology sparked my desire to study in medical university. After graduation, my interest in botany turned into fascination with an even more mysterious science - microbiology. Over 25 years of work as a microbiologist, I came to understand how interconnected everything is in the world we live in. I've had a passion for drawing since childhood. However, adulthood gradually pushed creativity out of my life. It slept in the recesses of my subconscious for more than twenty years until it awakened to save me from depression. This period for me was a time of vivid events, discoveries and self-awareness. I didn't have to search long for inspiration to paint because I've been in love with the plant world since childhood. Nature is unique in its moods, colors, and forms! And that's what I depict in my paintings. I've tried many techniques and styles, but I found working with watercolor most appealing to me. It's the lightness and richness of colors that make it so special for me. To renew my painting skills and master the watercolor technique, I started online courses at Onehobby School. I'm very grateful to contemporary artists in Ukraine for their openness and willingness to share knowledge. My goal in creating each painting is to convey warmth and emotions, to exchange beauty. I wish for my creativity to prompt people to pause for a moment; to remember the inexhaustibly wonderful world we live in; to feel that nature is an inseparable part of ourselves; and to remember that it requires our attention and protection.
