Deer in a Human Desert Print

I wanted to bring together what I thought were two extremes: the absence of life, represented by the desert, and life and resilience, represented by deer. I also grew up in Bahrain, living there for eight years, which is a desert, and now live in Virginia, where I continue to be impressed by deer and their ability to take over Virginian suburbia. So I was trying to comprehend how after growing up somewhere across the globe, I can now consider having roots here. In the process of creating it I realized that the desert I was painting resembled human body parts (find a belly button, boob, hips, back, butt, arm, biceps) and that the desert is actually alive. The Sahara desert continues to grow. There is no death, just energy changing shape.
